Segment Splicing Advice

Post by Requiem » Wed Dec 09, 2015 4:29 pm

Just a short thread. I can't be bothered to write it up properly, so here it is in list form:

- The best times to splice clips together are during sidejumps and wall kicks.
- Audio blending is very important. You can't just butt audio tracks together like the video tracks.
- Add a Constant Gain to the start and end of your audio track. In Premiere Pro, this can be found in Audio Transitions - Crossfade - Constant Gain.
- This requires your audio tracks to overlap, as seen in the following image.

- Audio splices don't always need to line up with the video splice, as seen in the above image (this is because the audio in the 1st clip sounded better than the 2nd clip, and could overlap appropriately).
- You might need to stretch your Constant Gain to be longer than others. In the image below, notice how the Gains are different lengths.
