What skips should I learn as a a beginner?

Post by lonniganseaweed » Thu Sep 04, 2014 4:40 pm

As subject says. What skips should I learn as a beginner and what should I leave for later? Links would be nice, but not necessary nor needed. (Ovendonkey's channel is the first place I look anyway)

all of them, if you're gonna run the game, you will need to learn all of them eventually, so just learn them all now, may be difficult after first but the best way to start is to get three starts on all the time trials and get a qualifying time on all the chapter runs.
Great to see more interest in the game lately as well!

Do you mean specifically Out of bounds skips or just skips in general, if it's out of bounds there's sort of a pattern that most people follow, to start with the simpler ones and build your way up to the ones that are more execution heavy or precise.
If you mean skips in general I'd say work your way through the game and try ones here and there, I suggest going for the kickglitch at the end of chapter 1 or chapter 2 and trying them over and over until succesfull just to see that you can get it ( and you will eventually ) If it's oob just say and I'll post a list of what order I'd learn them in with all current strats and skips considered.

I meant OoB skips, I'm starting to get the hang of kickglitches and other movement related tricks and was just wondering what major ones I should learn. I would like to learn them all eventually.

Start with Chapter 7 and Chapter 4, but realistically the best way to go is to pick one and grind it out until consistently.
So choose a skip, slowly pour into bowl and grind out until has the consistency of fine sand

In order of importance, I recommend...
Chapter 7 skip
Chapter 4 skip
Chapter 6 skip
Chapter 9 bev skip

Here's a list of easy glitchless skips I wrote for a friend who wanted to run glitchless: http://pastebin.com/h3eAEFN1

Chapter 2 skip is generally the easiest out of bounds ever.
